Hawaii is an amazing place to live if you’re passionate about photography. We have heavenly hikes and beautiful beaches, luscious landscapes and fabulous food to share and enjoy with snap of the shutter. Zak Noyle has carved out a career path for himself making him the envy of so many surf enthusiasts around the world. One of only a handful of staff photographers for Surfer magazine with thousands of images printed in publications and produced for galleries around the globe. It’s no wonder that he has well over 300,000 followers on Instagram and Facebook.
If you’ve ever been curious about his career or wondered how he creates his amazing images, here’s a great chance to find out for yourself. Zak will be diving in with thirty (30) lucky guests in a free 2-day Aquatography Workshop teaching camera fundamentals and offering hand-on, in-water training with gear from Canon and SPL Waterhousings.
It’s going to be a rad event for sure!

HAWAII SURF PHOTOGRAPHER ZAK NOYLE, PRESENTS A CHANCE TO LEARN FROM THE ARTIST HIMSELF IN A 2 DAY AQUATOGRAPHY WORKSHOP.
During these 2 days, Zak will offer an in-depth perspective into shooting underwater photos, tips and techniques as well as share his story to becoming Hawaii’s surf photographer.
Learn how to get the perfect water photos through valuable photography tips, underwater techniques and learn the rules of the water.

MAY 16TH – GET TO KNOW YOUR CAMERA (Q&A)
9:00 – 12:00 pm at the Rebublik
Professionals in surf photography, photo editing and equipment come together to offer their expertise to the public. This is a classroom event at Republik – 1349 Kapiolani Blvd #30. We are happy to welcome Sean LaBrie from SPL Water housings, Kaiwi Berry from the City & County Jr. Lifeguards North Shore program, Sonny Moniz- on Lightroom Editing, Fellow Photographers, Ric Noyle, John Hook, Amber Mozo and Zak Noyle along with Canon USA. SPL will be on hand to talk water housings, Profoto will be doing a lighting explanation and demonstration amongst other topics and special guests.
This class on May 16th is free and open to the public, please fill out an application and waiver, even if you plan to only attend Day 1-Saturday lectures.
MAY 17TH – HANDS ON WORKSHOP
7:00 – 12:00 pm at Sandy’s Beach
30 selected Aquatographers will break up into groups and shoot with Zak and other professional photographers using equipment provided by Canon USA and SPL water housings. This hands-on experience will be done in the water and on land demonstrating underwater wave photography techniques, taking place at Sandy’s Beach. The second day enrollment of the Aquatography workshop is limited due to the availability of equipment provided by Canon. However we welcome anyone who has their own equipment. Every participant will have a camera in-hand so they are able to learn and discover with the rest of the group.
