DESCRIPTION:A new year brings new opportunities for all of us in Hawaii. To start 2017 with a bang\, Hawaii Shoots would like to start a new series of workshops\, meet-ups\, and seminars\, as we continue in our mission to support Hawaii’s video and photo communities. We’re filling our calendar with monthly events where we gather Hawaii’s creatives\, and discuss various topics of interest in our industry. To open the year up\, we’re starting with lights! \nAs artists\, we depend on light to shape and define our subjects\, thus it is crucial to have at least a basic knowledge of the various tools in the marketplace. With more options available than ever before\, it can be difficult to figure out what solution will work best for your needs and your budget. At our event this January\, we’ll be showcasing various lights at all price points for you to try out\, and we’ll be taking a practical look at how to use them to create different styles and moods.  We will be talking with a couple of industry professionals about their lighting aesthetic and choices. \nDoors open at 5:30pm\, the conversation starts at 6:00pm\, and the event concludes with an hour or so of networking. DESCRIPTION:We are calling photographers of all skill levels for a Sunset Photography Hang Out! \nBrought to you by Darcy Fiero\, @darcyfierophotography\, and Brock Ladd\, @b_rocka\, from Hawaii Camera. \nOur lovely backdrop will be the alluring Pacific Ocean on the edge of Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park. Capture sailboats\, surfers\, standup paddle boarders and possibly even a whale! Rain or shine we’ll be there. \nMeet up time will start around 5:00pm under the large Banyan Tree in the back right of the park closest to the ocean. This will be your chance to hang out with other photographers\, talk about your passions\, share and learn different styles of shooting\, and enjoy a beautiful sunset together with like minded creatives.Make sure to bring your photography gear with you!
